kidsunlimited is committed to the development and training of employees and we are working towards all care staff achieving NVQ 2 or 3. Also, senior staff may undertake the NVQ Assessors award (A1, previously D32/D33), NVQ 4 in Management and NVQ 4 in Care. Other relevant qualifications may be applicable for administration/management staff.

This is the in-house training department, providing bespoke packages for all employees of kidsunlimited. We are passionate about the development of our employees and are committed to growing our own professional teams who can deliver excellence in care, education and learning to our parents and children. kidsunlimited believe the key to our success, is the people we employ to deliver high quality childcare and therefore recognise the need to develop our own, so are fully equipped with training centres across the UK. We have a broad range of training programmes designed to meet the needs and aspirations of staff working at all levels. Each programme has been developed to ensure we can support OFSTED expectations, individual aspirations and business objectives.

Induction
A bespoke 13 week induction programme is in place for all employees that is skills matched to the specific job roles. This provides all new staff with the knowledge and guidance they will require in order to fullfill their new role. This is validated through monthly reviews and questioning to ensure the correct levels of knowledge and understanding have been achieved. Once this programme has been completed in full and signed off, the employee will be confirmed within a position.

The induction covers knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

• Health & Safety - Knowledge and understanding to ensure that all employees maintain a safe and healthy working environment


• Policies and procedures - Introduction to all the policies and procedures that are in place to protect employees, children, parents and kidsunlimited

Apprenticeships/NVQ (National Vocational Qualification)
We offer a wide range of training courses in the form of an Apprenticeship or NVQ. Apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications by employers and an ideal way of gaining a qualification on the job and whilst getting paid. An Apprenticeship involves the completion of an NVQ technical certificate, key skills communication and the application of number.

Apprenticeships and NVQ’s were introduced to support the development of skills and competencies relevant to the work place and enable learners to gain under pinning knowledge to support them in their chosen profession. Apprenticeships are offered to those aged between 16 -24 yrs as per the guidance provided by the government. For those over 25 years, there is the option to complete an NVQ.
